We’re delighted to share how Innovate Now alumni ventures are continuing their innovation journeys – building their reach and impact.

Innovate Now venture supporting participation of PWD in Electoral Process in Kenya

A partnership between Innovate Now venture SIGNS MEDIA TV and Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has launched the use of a sign language interpreters’ mobile application assistALL for use in voter information and education of the deaf and hearing impaired before, during and after the 2022 general elections.

This partnership shows how digital assistive tech (AT) innovations can expand the participation of persons with disabilities in the electoral process in Kenya, and in doing so, enhance human rights in the political sphere. This initiative, supported by UNDP and will ensure that deaf Kenyans are not left behind in the electoral process.

Innovate Now alumni Syna in partnership with Equity Bank

Syna Consultancy has announced a partnership with Equity Bank, making it possible for users to acquire the UTULAV innovation through the Maji Loan. This will ensure persons with disabilities and older people are able to access UTULAV – which provides an accessible, portable sanitation solution.
